Dr. G. Chandran
Dr. Chandran grew up in Saskatchewan. He obtained his Bachelor of Science and was awarded the University of Saskatchewan President’s Gold Medal as the top graduate. In 2001, he completed medical school at the University of Saskatchewan and obtained his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with Great Distinction.
After performing research in wound healing at the University of Alberta with Dr. E.E. Tredget, he entered an anesthesia residency at Memorial University in St. John’s, Newfoundland. He returned to Saskatoon to obtain training in general surgery at the University of Saskatchewan. Dr. Chandran, then, completed his plastic surgery residency at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
After his residency, he underwent fellowship training at the University of Manitoba in reconstructive microsurgery under Dr. E. Buchel. During the fellowship, Dr. Chandran specialized in microsurgical free flap reconstruction of the breast, trunk, extremities and head & neck. He also had the opportunity to learn various techniques in aesthetic surgery and body contouring. After ten years of postgraduate medical training, Dr. Chandran started practice in Regina specializing in all aspects of plastic surgery including microsurgical reconstruction, hand surgery and aesthetic surgery. Dr. Chandran also has a specialized interest in nonsurgical aesthetic procedures including Botox, injectable fillers and body contouring.
In September 2013, Dr. Chandran moved his practice to his hometown, Saskatoon. To the people of Saskatchewan, he offers a wide array of aesthetic and reconstructive surgeries. He is involved with the education of future physicians as a clinical assistant professor and the lead for undergraduate plastic surgery education. He is also the provincial section head of plastic surgery in the physician leadership in Saskatchewan.
With his young family, Dr. Chandran also explores the natural beauty of Saskatchewan throughout the year. In his spare time, Dr. Chandran enjoys sports, camping, gourmet cooking and reading.
Dr. Chandran is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, Canadian Society of Plastics Surgeons, Canadian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Saskatchewan Medical Association and the Atlantic Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Talia – Cosmetic Coordinator
Talia works along side Dr. Chandran and walks you through the steps of what is to come after you have booked your surgery. Both Dr. Chandran and Talia will give you an overview and educate you to have a better understanding about the surgery or treatment you are interested in. Not only does Talia take care of our cosmetic patients but also does all our truSculpt ID and laser treatments. With her diploma in aesthetics obtained at MC College, truSculpt ID certification and IPL & Laser certificate received from B.C. Academy of Medical Aesthetics and Skin Care, Talia is sure to give you the best experience possible. When Talia isn’t treating patients, you can find her hanging out at her families lake house or out for brunch at her favourite restaurants. Talia also enjoys traveling, cooking and iced coffee.
Jordana – Medical Administrative Assistant
As Dr. Chandran’s medical administrative assistant, Jordana knows the ins and outs of our practice and handles all our administrative needs with a smile on her face. You will find her at our front desk ready to help you with any questions or concerns you may have. Jordana obtained her medical office admin certificate through McKay Career Training and has worked in the health region for 6 years while always having an interest in plastic surgery. Jordana will always go above and beyond what is expected for our patients and colleagues. When Jordana isn’t in our office you will find her cheering on her daughter at cheer competitions or at home cuddling with her beloved pets Jake and Sophie… and her husband of course! Jordana also enjoys double double coffees from Tim Horton’s, chocolate and family time.
